Always Been Yours Chapter 440

Mr Louis lives on an estate an hour’s drive from Vienna.

When you enter the living room, you will find violin-related decorations everywhere, and there is even an oversized cupboard at the back of the room filled with all kinds of expensive violins.

This shows that Mr Louis was a lover of the violin.

As Wen Shiyu was admiring the violins in the cabinet, there was the sound of footsteps in her ears.

When she looked at the sound, she saw an old, typically foreign gentleman with white hair walking slowly on crutches.

This man was none other than Louis himself, and although he was almost sixty, he was all in very good spirits.

He walked up to Wen Shiyu, and the first thing he noticed was Feng Shenye, who was standing beside him with an imposing presence.

Feng Shenye locked eyes with him.

He didn’t know what it was about Feng Shenye that displeased Louis, but he suddenly gave a cold snort and said unhappily, “Young man, no manners.”

Wen Shiyu was a bit confused, not understanding why this old gentleman had suddenly become displeased again.

She looked at Feng Shenye with some unease, fearing that the old gentleman might get angry and stop helping her fix the piano.

Feng Shenye didn’t really care.

He knew that old Mr. Louis was eccentric, but he would always do what he promised.

As he thought, he took hold of Wen Shiyu’s soft hand and said in a warm and comforting voice, “Don’t worry, I’m here.”

Wen Shiyu nodded, and the uneasiness within her heart gradually dispelled.

Old Mr. Louis watched the two of them show off their love in front of him, and his face suddenly stank a little.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to fix the piano? Dilly-dallying, don’t show me the zither yet.”

After finishing his words, he stopped paying attention to Wen Shiyu and the others and walked towards the living room sofa with his crutches.

Seeing this, Wen Shiyu hurriedly broke away from Feng Shenye’s hand and ran to the sofa to open the violin case she had brought.

“Old man, this is the violin I want to repair.”

She said, holding the violin in front of Louis.

Louis took one look at the body of the violin and recognised it as ‘Madame Tanna’, one of the world’s most expensive violin instruments.

But when he saw the three broken strings again, there was an unconcealed pain on his face.

“Are you really a competent violinist? Such a fine violin, and you let it break three strings!”

He condemned Wen Shiyu very ungraciously, holding the violin’s broken strings with a heartbreaking look of sadness on his face like he had lost his favourite lover.

Wen Shiyu was also being held accountable for her inner turmoil.

She was indeed not considered a qualified violinist, as she had not even protected her partner well.

As she thought, she sucked in her nose and pleaded, “Old man, I didn’t mean to break it, it was an accident, I know you are a very good violin repairer, I beg you, please do help me fix it, I know, I didn’t protect it well, but it is a very, very important existence to me.”

Louis looked at Wen Shiyu with a genuine look that did not seem to be a lie, and his face eased a little.

Without saying anything else, he looked down and began to examine it, only to find that the broken string had been maliciously broken.

“Your string was cut by a sharp instrument.”

He said, his eyes once again falling on Wen Shiyu in an interrogative manner.

Seeing this, Wen Shiyu didn’t hide anything and gave a general account of the events of that night’s performance.

“If I had known that day that someone would lay hands on my zither, I wouldn’t have said anything about leaving it backstage and carrying it with me everywhere I went.”

As the words came out, her eyes reddened.

This zither was not just a birthday present from Feng Shenye, but also a proof of their relationship.

So she took it very seriously.

Louis saw the tears that were about to spill out of her eyes, and knew that she really cared for this zither, and his dislike for it gradually disappeared.

“I can help you to restore it, but you have to pay for it yourself.”

Wen Shiyu cried tears of joy and promised, “As long as it can be repaired, I am willing to pay any amount of money.”

Louis looked at the smile on Wen Shiyu’s face and began to expel him, “In that case, then you can go back and wait.”

Wen Shiyu had no comment, but before she left, she asked, “Old man, when can I come and pick up the piano?”
