Just as he looked up, ready to ask, a stunned expression appeared on his face.
“Sister, how come you’re here?”
Wen Jingchen looked at Wen Shiyu in disbelief.
Wen Shiyu smiled narrowly, “Surprised? Surprised or not?”
“It’s too much of a surprise.”
Wen Jing Chen walked out from his desk with a clear smile, happily pulling Wen Shiyu to sit on the sofa.
Wen Shiyu looked at him with a smile on her face and said with concern, “Have you taken good care of yourself these days?”
“Of course I have.”
Wen Jingchen responded, and said with some aggravation, “Sister, how come you didn’t even inform me of such an important event as your return.”
“It’s more urgent to come back this time, it’s because your brother-in-law’s grandfather is sick.” Wen Shiyu explained.
“Then is brother-in-law’s grandfather alright?”
“It’s fine.”
Wen Shiyu gave a general description of the old man’s situation.
Wen Jingchen nodded his head and asked again, “Then how is brother-in-law’s recovery from his injuries?”
“He’s recovered well too, so you don’t need to worry.”
The two of them chatted about family matters.
Later in the evening, Wen Jingchen’s a*sistant knocked on the door and entered.
“General manager, there’s a problem over at the technical department, you need to go take a look.”
Wen Jingchen frowned slightly, seemingly not wanting to go.
Wen Shiyu read it from the side and couldn’t help but persuade, “You go, I’ll wait for you here, don’t delay your work.”
Wen Jingchen couldn’t, and could only nod, “Then I’ll go and take a look.”
With those words, he turned his head to his a*sistant and instructed, “Have someone send some snacks and fruits over later, as well as magazines.”
The a*sistant nodded and led the order to leave.
Wen Jingchen also explained a few words to Wen Shiyu, and went to the technical team.
Not long after, a staff member brought snacks and fruits to Wen Shiyu.
Wen Shiyu sat on the sofa, eating the fruit while swiping her phone, very leisurely.
Just not long after, she heard a noise coming from outside.
“Miss Ling, don’t give me a hard time, our General Manager Wen is really not here, Miss Ling.”
“Get out of my way.”
Ling Jing Yuan ignored Secretary Wen Jing Chen at all and walked forward in stride.
She felt that it was because Wen Jingchen didn’t want to see herself that she deliberately had someone say that she wasn’t in the office.
Just like that, she barged straight into the general manager’s office.
“Wen Jing Chen, what do you mean, I’ve looked for you many times, why do you avoid me every time?!”
After heckling, Ling Jing Yuan realised that there was no figure of Wen Jing Chen in the office at all, instead, there was a beautiful woman sitting on the sofa.
Wen Shiyu was also a little surprised to see Ling JingYuan who barged in.
She looked Jing-Yuan Ling up and down.
Ling Jing Yuan was not very old, just in her early twenties, dressed in a designer brand, with long coffee coloured curly hair that was casually draped behind her, a small palm-sized face with delicate features, all in all a very pretty girl.
The only bad thing, however, is that this girl carries an overbearing aura between her eyebrows, looking somewhat arrogant.
Just when Wen Shiyu was wondering who this person was, Ling Jing Yuan pre-empted her questioning: “Who are you? Why are you in Wen Jingchen’s office?”
She looked at Wen Shiyu with hostility, her heart filled with a sense of crisis.
It was because she had never seen another woman around Wen Jingchen, but now there was a woman strutting around in Wen Jingchen’s office, eating snacks and fruits!
Most importantly, this woman was even prettier than her.
Wen Shiyu didn’t miss the hostility in Ling Jing Yuan’s eyes, raised her eyebrows slightly and asked back, “Who are you again? This is a place for work, isn’t it too rude of you to barge in like this?”
Ling choked on her words and glared directly at her, “Who do you care who I am!”
Wen Shiyu frowned a little unhappily.
The atmosphere instantly became a little frozen.
The secretary next to her saw the situation and hurriedly moved to Wen Shiyu’s side to explain in a whisper.
“Miss Wen, this is a thousand-year-old lady from a client’s family, who has been pestering Mr. Wen ever since she met him.”
“Oh?”
Wen Shiyu was a little surprised and found it interesting.
After all, it was a good thing for her own brother to have someone to pursue.
